ABOUT

At K-town Sauna, we provide the very best services from South Korea, and make them more easily accessible to an American clientele.  That's why we decided to stay open 24 hours a day seven days a week and even on all holidays!

Our favorite cultural establishment from South Korea is the jjimjilbang, which is the term we use for a large sauna with a common area where people can unwind, relax, and enjoy food from our restaurant.

Our beautiful facility spans two floors 4th floor is furnished with separated men and female lockers, steam saunas, hot tubs, showers. 3rd floor is furnished with jjimjilbang dry saunas, massage rooms, lounge areas, dining area, juice bar, and more!

It is our hope that jjimjilbang culture, which we hold dear in our hearts, will become a part of America’s ever-growing, diverse cultural landscape. We know how great it is to go to a jjimjilbang with our friends and loved ones after a long day at work, and we want to share that experience with you. After all, jjimjilbang is all about community and positive feelings toward one another.

We all work hard, especially in New York City, and K-town Sauna is the perfect place to rest, relax, and rejuvenate oneself. So please join us and share some delicious Korean food, ice-cold beverages, and great experiences.

JJIm Jil bang

Jjimjilbang is derived from jjimjil, or the Korean word for heating, and bang, which is the word for room. In other words, a jjimjilbang literally translates to a heated, indoor area. Koreans know the jjimjilbang as a large, typically multi-floored, gender-segregated public bathhouse, with separate unisex areas that have heated-floors for lounging and sleeping, wide-screen TVs, special sauna rooms, and snack bars.

But jjimjilbang is more than just a catchall term for a large sauna. Jjimjilbang is an experience. Jjimjilbang is warmth and comfort. Jjimjilbang is family. After a hard day of work, there's nothing quite like going to a jjimjilbang, washing away all of the dirt and toxins that have built up in your pores, relaxing in a hot sauna, and drinking a cool, refreshing smoothie with your family and loved ones.
